Don’t Forget the GROOM!
Even though it is popular opinion that the groom just wants to rent a tuxedo and show up, there are grooms that are sensitive and sentimental. The groom may not say much during the planning stages of the wedding. However, they do look forward to not only the tuxedo, 25 invitations (to include his family and friends), the bride’s ring, the rehearsal dinner (responsibility of the groom’s parents), limousine transportation, and the honeymoon...they expect at least a Groom’s Cake. Just a small way of saying, “Groom, you are an important and a vital part of this wedding celebration.” After all, if there was no groom, there would be no wedding!
The Groom’s Cake is mainly designed to supplement the wedding cake. It is usually entirely chocolate with fresh or candied fruit but it can be cheese cake, German chocolate, carrot, or red velvet and personalized for the groom. Please don’t eliminate the Groom’s Cake as a budget line item. Show your man it’s his special day too!
