Valentine’s Day Wedding Ideas

What better time for tying the wedding knot than the season when love is in air? Since the perfect theme for any wedding is love, Valentine’s Day has a lot to offer. Start by designing your wedding invitations to like Valentine’s Day cards. Instead of a guest book, you can leave out Valentines for your guests to give you with their well wishes and words of advice.

Find a location that will allow you to decorate like a romantic dinner - soft lighting, gauzy fabrics, candles and plenty of atmosphere. A string quartet or soloist will help set the mood. If you want to have a DJ, create a song list full of love songs. Prepare garlands of fresh red roses and place them everywhere. Place a red carpet on the floor. Put rose bouquets on the tables or other flowers like jasmine. Embellish flower vases with colorful satin ribbons and laces. Consider a heart-shaped flowered ceremonial arch.

The bold bride can wear a red gown in heart or rosebud motifs. But if you are not very comfortable wearing red, then a great alternative is pink which has the best of both worlds with the purity of white and strong passionate feelings of red. Pink also looks really graceful. How about the idea of having a heart shaped neckline? The traditional bride can wear a white dress with red accents. Wrap a vibrant red shawl around your arms and carry an overflowing bouquet of red roses. Have your bridesmaids wear the same dress in varying shades of pink and red. Make a hairstyle using fresh roses. Accessorize jewelry maintaining the theme of love using hearts and roses.

Let’s not forget the groom because all eyes are on him too. You should select colors close to red like dark maroon or a brownish red color. You can also opt for a white suit with a pink shirt. The groom and groomsmen can wear red ties with different red and pink boutonnières.

For the wedding cake, a modern heart pattern embossed into white fondant is a great option, or choose a red filling (like red velvet cake or fresh strawberries) so that each slice will have a hint of color. For bridal party gifts you can shop for heart-shaped necklaces, heart-shaped key chains, etc. Give your guests tiny heart-shaped boxes of candy as favors.

NOTE: You must plan in advance. Any wedding scheduled on a holiday will also have obstacles. Your bridal party and guests may choose to be with their loved ones instead of celebrating with you.
