Winning At Losing For Your Big Day!

You’ve finally found the man of your dreams. He asked …you said yes. Now what? Booking a place, picking your wedding party, choosing your colors and on top of it all…trying to lose weight! How do you do it without losing your mind? Here are some great tips on how to do it all AND look great at the wedding!
Get professional help. Just like you enlist in the help of a wedding planner to help you plan and organize your wedding, a fitness professional can help you get results in the most efficient way. Look for someone who has a health related college degree to make sure the person is knowledgeable. Your trainer should also be certified through a credible agency such as ACSM, ACE, NASM or CSCS. You can expect to pay $25-$50 for 1/2 hr, based on education, experience, facility and location. Ask a trainer for a free session to see if you two make a good fit. Meet with several trainers before making your decision and don’t be afraid to ask for references.

Change your eating habits. Making small changes such as switching to whole grains, eating more lean protein and filling up on fruits/vegetables will yield great results. Eat 5-6 small meals throughout the day, stay away from alcohol and don’t eat anything 3-4 hours before bed. When stressed out, snack on raw veggies instead of chips to save a lot of calories!

Join a Fitness Boot Camp. If you just don’t have the motivation to do it on your own, fitness boot camp is a great way to get awesome results in a short amount of time! These programs are usually more rigorous than regular personal training, but offer much greater results. You should expect to lose a dress size, tone up and lose 5-20 lbs. Most run for a month with 3-5 workouts/week. Even though you can expect to pay $250-$400, some include lots of free “bonuses” such as a nutrition plan, homework and make-up classes. Since each boot camp is different, be sure to ask questions before making your selection.

Ask for weight loss services as gifts. If you’re not exactly the Martha Stewart type, why not ask for personal training sessions or a fitness boot camp as bridal shower gifts. Many places offer gift cards in various monetary amounts.
Pete and Alyte Piedra are both nationally
certified personal trainers.
